Bagdad SKILLS

Bagdad High School CTE programs will be participating this year in the nationally recognized SkillsUSA program. Students enrolled in the coding, construction trades, and welding programs will be excited to know that they will have the opportunity to travel to participate in regional, state and national events in leadership, and technical skills. SkillsUSA is part of the Arizona Department of Education requirement for career technical programs to offer students “Career Technical Student Organizations” that provide students opportunities to develop the skills, knowledge and behavior they need for success in todays workforce. Not to mention it’s a lot of fun.

Teachers and students will be getting organized right away and their first away event Friday September 16 at the SkillsUSA Region 4 fall leadership conference in Prescott. Our Bagdad students will participate in a professional development conference, have an opportunity to campaign and run for one of the reginal officer positions and share their “Bagdad Sultan’s” school spirit. Be on the look out for information and permission slips to be sent home soon, or stop by and speak with your students instructor(s).
