Family and Consumer Sciences

As a chapter our goal is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Science (FACS). We focus on the roles of family members, wage earners, and community leaders. Our members develop skills for their future through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.

We feel that community involvement is a pivotal part of FACS and that by promoting FCCLA within the community we can have a greater impact on those around us. This year, our focus is on making better choices. This can be taken as a personal development cause or as one that can help others with making choices that are better for them personally or for their family as a whole. We are striving to have a greater reach than just the school and are implementing ways to reach out to the community of Bagdad.

One way of meeting our goal is by participating in annual Lead2Change projects. As a chapter, we continuously make every attempt to involve the community in our project. For more information about Lead2Change and ways that you can get involved, please see Ms. Cunningham, any Jr. FCCLA member, or go to https://www.lead4change.org/.
